So Far, So Good
Arrived on May 10, 2014, installed May 12, 2014. Replaced the Ferris Natural Slate Fountain that was less than a year old; purchased from another internet retailer. (That fountain is junk and do not recommend buying it.) This Cascading Fountain is setup in the landscape bed to the left of the walk leading to the front door. Unpacked the pieces, read the instructions (which are poorly depicted) and I examined all the components. Discovered that the base section that holds the pump and water reservoir, made of fiberglass, is coated inside with a white epoxy type material as a water barrier and for rigidity. On an outer edge and an inner edge inside, the epoxy "split" open in two spots, one about 3" and the other about 6". They appeared to be cracks or separation caused by the drying process not damage from mishandling. That left only the fiberglass outer shell (i.e. the exterior brown seen in the picture), in the areas of the cracks as the water barrier. It is so thin that light passes through the cracks; even in areas where there are no cracks the epoxy is thin and seems translucent. Did not want to repackage and send it back. Mixed "epoxy" and covered/filled the splits/cracks before assembling the fountain. Had it not been for the cracks I would have given the fountain a 5 Star, at this point in the game!!! Easy to assemble. Great looking. Love the LED lights in the bowls, just wish they had a separate switch to turn them off during the day. Have already received multiple compliments on the fountain. Will update the review after the fountain has been in use for a few months.

The first fountain I had looked very similar in design to the Kenroy Home Slate Green Floor Fountain. It lasted for many years. When the pump died I could not replace it without permanently damaging the rubber gasket that sealed the opening where the electrical cord passed through the fountain to the outside. The color was light brown, tan and cream and over time did fade to a complete white. That was replaced by the Ferris Natural Slate Fountain previously mentioned. The Ferris paint flaked off within the first few weeks and the aerator nozzle never worked properly and often would pop-off. The entire Ferris Natural Slate fountain is poorly designed.

Pros: Easy To Clean, Attractive Design, Easy To Install

Cons: Cracks In Reservoir
