A lavishly detailed French candlestick base is finished in distressed beige, giving this console lamp the look of a treasured antique. A gorgeous, creamy, crackled alabaster glass shade sits on top, giving off a soft, warm light. Perfect for an entryway table or in any space where a small accent light is desired.

This is for my mother's sunroom; she doesn't spend any time in the room in the evenings, but needs to have decent light in there when necessary. This should provide good 'upward' light, and will look very nice under a special picture she has on the wall. It's been difficult to find table lamps with 60 or more watt bulbs that look pretty or feminine. Her sunroom is special and we wanted a lamp that has some 'class'. This should work. I hope the in-line switch isn't a problem.

BEST ANSWER: It has a toggle switch on the cord. It's a very nice lamp and is well made, especially with the price being so reasonable.

I use this lamp to provide ambiance. I put in a 15 watt bulb and it gives off the perfect amount of light

Very classy
I bought this for my mother's sunroom, but it didn't fit with her decor. I needed something with fairly bright light just for use in the evenings. Ended up buying a totally different style, also from LampsPlus, and it's perfect in her room.
I brought this one home for my living room, where it looks very nice; and has great light dispersion.
The price, to me, was quite fair, and the quality seems to be good. We're pleased with both.

Torchier lamp.
Nice lamp but color is rather bland. I will probably touch up with gold highlights. Not quite as elegant as pictured. So so recommendation.
