I needed a good light for working at home. This exceeded my expectations. I have high ceilings so didn't know how well the lamp would work. Excellent lighting with no shadows. Good weight; feels solid. Only question I had when putting it together was whether to keep rings around the end of the sections of the post (I realized they were protective but didn't know at first); they should be a bright orange instead of the same color as the post so it's obvious they should be thrown away. I bought the lamp on-line. The box arrived in damaged condition, and one of the bulbs was totally crushed. But I went to my local LampsPlus and was handed a new bulb. No problem. I'd read a review that the lamp was crooked, but I was careful in screwing the pieces together and it's perfectly straight. The cord is plenty long enough for my room. I'm VERY happy with this lamp and have already recommended it to others!

We use the lamp in the computer room which also is a bedroom. Since there is no overhead light when we entered the room we were unable to see into the entire room, now it gives enough light.

Purchased two. First one only one bulb of four comes on. Second one has same bulb issue and the large glass piece at top of lamp does not fit over the area it needs to. Someone cut the inner circle too small. Trust me I know because I have one that fits to compare to! Beautiful lamp but total duds.

Excited by the first of these lamps that we purchased and assembled last week, we ordered another one. Unfortunately, this one was a disaster. The box arrived looking banged up. The large glass shade had serious nicks. Worse, once assembled, the parts didn't fit together well. Worst: it didn't work. We returned it to a local Lamps Plus store, without a hassle. But a very disappointing experience and product overall.

The light was easy to assemble and provides much needed light. it is a great looking fixture.

We've enjoyed our lamp for 2 years, but can anyone recommend replacement bulbs that work? We went to [...] thinking any 26W, GU24 2700K bulb would work, but they don't... Any suggestions?

Lights up the living room very well. I usually don't spend this much on a lamp, but really wanted the extra light. Also, I figure with CFLs instead of halogen, I should be able to save about $30/year on electricity, so it should pay the difference in about 6 or 7 years...even sooner if electricity rates keep going up. Personally, I like the look better than the bargain ones too.

The only thing that could be an issue is the type of bulb socket. It uses GU 24, rather than the screw-in type. I haven't really shopped around to check availability of the bulbs or if they are reasonably priced.

The lamp is what I expected except that all four of the bulbs do not light up. There appears to be one light setting that does not work. Since I got this lamp through the mail it is simply too much trouble to send it back. But this quality problem will influence my thinking when I am buying another lamp.
