Is it possible to only shoot light from bottom of this light and not the top?

BEST ANSWER: No, this has built-in LEDs and designed with a top and bottom light.
I'm wondering how wide of an angle the light makes? I'm trying to light up a building number.
A shopper on Mar 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The approximate beam spread is at a 45 degree angle from the fixtures edge (right/left and front side). The light could reach an approximate 3-7 feet, but with a higher concentrated intensity within 1-3 feet. Before installation, the height and distance would need to be considered.

I bought six of the Standford Black outdoor lights because of the design and it looks amazing when it lights up; two of those died two months later after installing them and about a week ago- two died again. I am not sure for how long I need to buy those in the future. I was expecting to enjoy and to last st least five years.

DO NOT DIM THESE LIGHTS!
I have 16 of these lights around the outside of my house. 8 in the front, and 8 in the back. The 8 units in the front have been in place for 1 1/2 years. They are used sparingly, once per week at 100% typically for an couple of hours. No issues...all 8 units work well, and they look great - splashing light up and down the stone wall (see picture).

The 8 on the back, are a different story. 6 of the 8 have gone out...4 in the first 12 months, and 2 since. The only differences are (1) they are dimmed to 20%; and (2) they come on for 2 hours a day. Oddly the units that "go out" still produce a faint light.

Unfortunately, they are all no longer in warranty, so I had to purchase the last 2. I changed the setting so that (1) they no longer come on for 2 hours a day, and (2) they are no longer dimmed.

My suspicion is that the dimming is the problem. Hopefully, going at 100% will keep the others from going out.

I would be curious to know if anyone else had these go out while attached to a dimmer switch.

Response from Lamps Plus
Hi Greg J., we appreciate the feedback. We're sorry to hear that some of your lights have gone out. Unfortunately, as stated in our product description, the built-in LED array in this design is not dimmable. Dimming a non-dimmable fixture can negatively impact the light's lifespan. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to our customer service team via phone, email, or chat. Thank you.
