Hello! We already have an electric lamp post that has been here for a number of years. While having a tree trimmed in the yard last week, the limb fell and broke one of the 3 lamps on the post (broke the arm off -- it is not fixable). That post is already anchored in concrete in the ground. Is there any way to use the base of the older one that is anchored in the ground, or will this have to be done from scratch, new concrete base poured, etc.? Thanks for your help!

BEST ANSWER: No - you will not be able to use the base that is already anchored to the ground to fit this post.
What gauge is the aluminum? What is the bolt pattern for the base? Painted or powder coated?

How did you secure 96 inch high lamp post to grass or blacktop pavement?

BEST ANSWER: If the item is being installed in a grass area you will have to make a concrete slab for it. If it is going onto a blacktop you will have to use concrete anchor screws to secure it.
Is the glass frosted or white? What material is the post made of? How durable-hurricane force winds-falling limbs?

Do you have a choice of glass? Prefer clear, not white.

BEST ANSWER: The Sorrento does not come with a choice of glass. However, if you prefer clear glass, we do have the gorgeous Bellagio. It is a similar style, in black, with clear glass. Beautiful
I bought two of these for my backyard and they are absolutely gorgeous....even better than I expected them to be. I may install a dimmer or use lower-wattage bulbs...these brighten up the yard beautifully, but I might want the lighting a litle more subdued for a party...The bolts the lamps came with are meant to be installed PRIOR to pouring concrete, so we had to buy new hardware and drill into the patio so that was a bit of a pain, but otherwise, I am VERY pleased with my purchase [...]

Cons: Difficult To Install

This post light is absolutely beautiful!
We put it in our front yard next to our sidewalk. It is so beautiful. We feel this post has enhanced our yard appeal greatly and we are so proud of how it looks now. Also our street is very dark and it projects the light toward the dark areas wonderfully. We can find nothing wrong with this product.

I would recommend this product
I would recommend this product, it is very attractive and puts out great light.

The only thing I would caution about is you need to be a do-it-yourselfer or know some one who is or hire a professional.

I installed in front yard and am very pleased w/product.

It comes in 5 different pieces, it is very simple to assemble and I recommend doing this before installing in position.

Pros: Attractive Design, Area Of Illumination, Easy To Change Bulb, Weather Resistant

Cons: Very Vague Instructions

Extremely nice
We love our lamppost. My husband and I installed it. We followed the guidelines that were included and some useful reviewers notes.
The crucial part was the leveling of the base in the setting cement. We also reinforced the cement.
We are calling it our "Narnian Lamppost":)

looks ok but missing part and socket fell out.
After install found that one decorative bolt was missing also when screwing in the light bulbs the inside of one socket came right off. This is just a pain to de-install; re-wrap; and send back. Once installed there really isn't going back. Managed to do a half baked soldering job that will last until I need to change the LED bulb. But for something that should last a long time in the yard you would think it would have a bit more quality.
